At the beginning of this year I launched a new way of working with leaders of ambitious recruitment agencies.
With my ‘see it through’ approach, I focus on making sure that pricing changes happen. Supporting consultants as they adapt to a value-led pricing mindset. Overcoming unforeseen challenges. Making the most of unexpected opportunities.
And it’s working.
My approach means committing more time to each recruitment agency. I’m happy with this, because I want to see big results just as much as the recruitment leaders I work with.
But it means I’m limited in how many clients I can help ‘see it through’.
Onboarding is particularly intensive, because it involves a deep dive into the business, its historic pricing data, understanding the culture of pricing, identifying where the big opportunities are, and setting out realistic objectives that we can achieve together.
Not to mention getting to know the recruitment leaders I’ll be working with, and making sure that we are right for each other.
For this reason, I’ve committed to only taking on one recruitment agency on my ‘see it through’ approach per quarter. Maximum.
And if I need to spend more time with those agencies I’m already working with, I might not take on a new agency that quarter.
This means I’ve created a waiting list. In reality, the leaders I work with often need a few months to prepare themselves to start working with me. That makes sense. It’s a big commitment, and they often want to align the work with strategic goals or a new website.
One word of advice: if you want to improve your pricing, don’t spend a few months getting your business in the right place… then find you have to wait.
