From tech COO to recruiter: a unique perspective on the value of recruitment
Inside the mind of a hiring manager
On The Value Advantage Podcast this week I talked with Clodagh Murphy, director of Cathedral Appointments, a top regional recruitment agency in the south west. Before joining Cathedral, Clodagh was a chief operating officer at a £60m turnover technology firm and was responsible for hiring at all levels of the business.
This gives her a brilliant perspective of both sides of the hiring relationship, and she shared some great insights into the mind of a hiring manager - and how she looks back on those decisions now she’s supporting hiring managers as a recruiter.
During our conversation Clodagh talked about the pressure hiring managers are under, and the strategic value businesses can get by finding a recruitment partner who enables them to work faster and smarter.
She shared why she chose to move into recruitment after a successful career in technology, and uncovered some of the key ways that recruiters add value to their clients and wider communities.
We also talked about the importance of belief in being a valuable partner to your clients, and Clodagh shared some data on the impact an increased belief has made to her team.
I love being able to talk about recruitment from different perspectives, and Clodagh brings some real insights from her previous experience and her journey into recruitment.
