For the second episode of The Value of Recruitment Podcast I spoke with Abi Dunn, founder of Sixty Eight People, a hospitality recruitment agency. Abi also co-founded Pineapple, a people data business for the hospitality industry.
A highlight for me was the way Abi shares the journey she has been on in terms of thinking about her value. She is so open about explaining her approach so far, and the challenges she still faces when putting together her pricing model.
We talk about how price is a signal of quality, the risk of creating lots of value for clients for free, and alternative ways to present price and value.
If you’re looking at changing how you talk to your clients about value, I think you’ll gain a lot by listening to Abi’s journey and the decisions she is making.

P.S. In the podcast we talk about how Abi has positioned herself as a champion of her industry, and the importance of being ‘in the room’ when you’re partnering with clients.
In fact, it was her reputation in the industry that led to being approached to set up Pineapple, which is supercharging the idea of providing market insights to clients - and making it so valuable they pay for it.
Pineapple is a great example of how recruiters can develop new revenue streams by building on their strengths.
