In a few weeks’ time I’m going to be giving myself shared parental leave. And I don’t know exactly how it’ll work.
I don’t want to shut my business down for three months, but I do want to spend time with baby number 2 in one of their biggest periods of development.
I plan to keep working with my current clients, but I’ll be pulling back on conversations with other recruitment leaders during that time.
I was the first dad to take shared parental leave (taking over from my wife at the end of her maternity leave) at Reed for baby number 1, and that was an amazing experience. But taking leave as an employee is quite different to taking leave when you’re running your own business.
So what does this mean for you?
If you have an urgent pricing issue, you need to get in touch before Friday 8th April. After that I’ll be fully focused on my baby and my current clients, so my virtual doors will be closed to new clients until 20th June at the earliest.
I’m also going to be posting a lot less on LinkedIn during this time. However, I’m going to keep sending these emails – so if you want to stay in the loop and read my latest pricing advice, keep an eye on your inbox.
And if you have experiences to share about parental leave (especially while running your own business) then please let me know!
Jon
P.S. I’m grateful for you taking the time to sign up and read these emails.
If you know a colleague or recruitment leader who would find my pricing insights valuable, please forward or share this with them. Thanks!
